that is quite different in terms of its effectiveness and half life.
Before you buy Cialis, you should make sure
that your health condition is compatible with this ED pill. For that, you need
to consult with a doctor first and undergo a proper diagnosis.
Now, let us find out how this medication can help treat this
health condition in men.
What does Cialis do to treat erectile dysfunction?
Cialis (or Tadalafil) is an oral prescription medication
which helps one suffering from erectile dysfunction, to obtain and maintain a
long-lasting erection. It belongs to a special group of medications called PDE5
inhibitors.
Compared to other ED pills, the effects of Cialis 10 mg or
20 mg last longer for up to 36 hours. Therefore, it is also known as the
Weekend Pill as it can easily last through the weekend. There is also Cialis
for daily dose that come in lower doses of 2.5 and 5 mg.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) first approved
Cialis on November 21, 2003, for its use in the treatment of erectile
dysfunction.
Cialis mechanism of action:
Tadalafil
can kick in quickly in a matter of 30 minutes into the blood stream.
When there is a sexual stimulation, nitric oxide is released
and signals are sent from the endothelial cells of the penis. Then there is a
conversion of GTP (guanosine triphosphate) molecules to cGMP (cyclic guanosine
monophosphate).
In men who are suffering from erectile dysfunction, there is
an enzyme that breaks down the cGMP molecules. It is called PDE5
(phosphodiesterase type 5) enzyme.
As a result of breaking down of cGMP, the muscles around the
blood vessels contract causing obstruction in the flow of blood to the penile
nerve.
Cialis simply helps in inhibiting this PDE5 enzyme from
breaking down Cialis. By binding to these PDE5 enzymes, it helps facilitate the
cGMP molecules to stay and function properly. So, when there is a sexual
stimulation, nitric oxide is released and the cGMP helps dilate the blood
vessels. The blood flows freely to the erectile tissue and the person can
achieve an erection.
