Reasons why Soma pill is prescribed
We all have faced muscle pain problems at some point of time
in our lives. It has a wearing effect on those who suffer. Be it for any
reason- from a sprain to a severe muscle injury- the pain can drain the energy
out of us and make us feel weak. The discomfort can stay for a long period of
time, making our day-to-day activities hard to carry out.
There are a number of muscle relaxers available for the
treatment of muscle pain but none can beat the effectiveness of Soma pill- a fast-acting muscle
relaxer. It can beat acute muscle pain easily with its fast-action pain relief.
The generic name of this muscle relaxer is Carisoprodol.
Why is Soma pill prescribed for muscle pain?
·
Soma pill is a painkiller that specializes in
the treatment of musculoskeletal pain. It is therefore known as a muscle
relaxer.
·
This medication is basically prescribed as a
first-aid treatment in case of muscle injuries and muscle tension.
·
It is a mild form of a muscle relaxer that can
treat mild to moderate levels of muscle pain.
·
This painkiller is safe for daily use because it
comes with no severe side-effects.
·
Its half life is with only 2 hours of
peak-effects, as the drug quickly leaves the body through renal and non-renal
routes. This reduces the possibility of drug accumulation in the body.
Working mechanism of Carisoprodol:
Carisoprodol is a pharmacologically active drug that can
change the neuronal pathways of the pain signals. When the nerves from the
affected area send in the pain signals to the brain, Carisoprodol can block
these signals out by simply binding to the pain receptors. It has got a weak
affinity to the pain receptors that makes it bind to them. As a result, the
brain is not able to process the pain sensations and we feel relieved from the
discomfort.
This painkiller is also known to induce sleepiness with its
effect on the nervous system. As it can cause dizziness at times, it is advised
to avoid activities like driving or operating heavy machinery while dosing on
it.
